Family Portraits for the Holidays

I have been taking a number of family portraits for the holidays. I think it's a great gift to give and it should be no surprise to my family that's what will be under the tree for them too. Beautiful photographs of us. Here are some of my favorite family pictures from the last couple of weeks. I have a another group little ones to take this weekend. I'm excited about the shoot since it will be up North in a different environment - perhaps even snow.

Sneak Peek of our holiday card layout

I've been working on a great holiday card layout for our family. It is a trifold square. I'm very excited and can't wait to see it printed. This is just one side of the sided card.

I'm also excited about the layout for the mini folded book. I created a picture story of our little girl to give to the grandparents for a gift. They can keep it in their purse and it will only be a little larger than a business card. Here is the front cover layout - how cute.

Round Edge Holiday Card Design

I feel in love with this look I saw several places on the net. I created my own photoshop template and now can't stop. I can't wait to get some of these printed.

The holiday shoot

Well, I had a lot of ideas for this shoot and most worked out. I love this family they are so cute and beautiful of course the pictures were going to turn out fine. I also tried a new lens, the 50mm portrait lens. It worked really well by keeping the foreground in crisp focus while the background is slightly blurry. I thought it was cute to have the little guy up front while mom and dad sneak a kiss under the mistletoe.

My Business Cards have arrived

I purchased these awesome mini cards from MOO. I was able to have a different photograph printed on each one. They are sooooooooo cool. They are like little trading cards - I'm not sure I want to hand them out. I feel like I want to keep them all. On the front is a full color - full bleed photo on the back is my custom logo and information.

I recommend MOO.com to anyone who needs business cards, stickers or holiday cards with your photos on them. The cardstock is thick, the printing is a great color match, it has a matte finish and the price is right!!!

I can't wait to get stickers done now!!!!

So on the studio front - I will be shooting my family's holiday portrait this weekend. Next weekend 2 other families. So look forward to seeing some great shots over the next couple weeks.

Beautiful Little Girl

I photographed a beautiful little girl a couple of weeks ago, on the banks of the local spring. She was fantastic with her poses. Her blue eyes really popped and gave me an opportunity to try out some new techniques.
I am in love, love, love with my {Life as Art} Work Shop in a Box by NicholeV at www.nicholev.com . I am learning so much about her artistic approach.
I have 2 family sessions coming up, plus a self portrait/family picture to take. I can't wait.

New Blog New Website

Hi. I'm Stephanie Nericcio. I have spent many years as a graphic designer, with a deep desire to take pictures. I worked in the darkroom in high school and college, but thought design was my true passion. I work for several years in a design firm on the outskirts of Hartford, CT. Then I did freelance design work for a couple of years which required me to take pictures for my clients design jobs. I feel in love all over again. The idea of incorporating deisgn and photography was it for me. My husband and I moved to a small farmette in PA leaving New England behind. We had our baby in 2008 which inspired me to go back to school and finish my degree. I began taking classes at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I continue to learn and grow with every image I take.

This is one of the lastest images, a study of lighting.
